I’ve seen all of the spicy features since Toy Account, and liked this one better than most. It’s not as laughable as Shrek, and overall not as righteous as Monsters Inc or Finding Nemo, but certainly in the better half, comparable to Cars, Ice Age, and Over The Hedge. During the first twenty minutes or so it seemed like it might offer nothing better than a series of Bee jokes, which I search for has resulted in some negative reviews here. But the tale develops as an allegory for frivolous lawsuits, but it’s the bee who brings the frivolous lawsuit here, so it doesn’t jump on the Hollywood blame-humans-first bandwagon, which is refreshing. Some of the results are predictable, some humorous, but not preachy or trite. There’s at least one lawyer joke that had the audience in stitches, along with several other droll jokes.
We took our kids to study this movie and they all loved it. I liked it because they didn’t include sexual innuendos like the Shrek movies I’ve seen. That always makes me mad that this type (sexual innuendos) of writing has to be included in what is supposed to be a children’s movie. Anyway, this movie is broad for shrimp children as well as bigger kids. The jokes are humorous, and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Although at one point it seemed rather unfamiliar that a bee can sue humans, it all fell into set in the raze. We all have to realize that this is animation, not genuine life, so no dependable life acting should be portrayed. They all did a unbelievable jobs doing their parts, especially Jerry Seinfeld. Well done! I will be buying this when it comes out.

this is a trim clever rewrite of diminutive red riding hood with all sorts of zany characters and twists on the novel. it’s humorous, fast-paced and amazingly no violence, sex or profanity. Wonderful job!

I watched the first volume not bright what to put a question to, and ended up really liking it. The animation and character earn has a really cute, solid style, and the backgrounds are absolutely pretty (especially during urge scenes with shots soaring over the landscape) . I really enjoyed seeing all the different alien races and their ships, as well; they were creatively designed. The main character Eva (AKA Molly) was a refreshing alternative to most young female characters one finds these days – luminous, strong, but with all the imperfections of her youth.

One thing I liked a lot was the fact that Rick Thunderbolt, who seemed at first like a token jock and a situation design thrown in to simply acquire an obstacle (he was even taken out by a convenient accident), comes wait on to become a mentor figure for Molly.
Even as an (nearly) 18 year passe, I liked this present a lot and am involved to sight the second volume.
Well this was a bit of a surprise, and a generous surprise at that. I was looking for a more fun anime series, as it has been awhile since I’ve taken on a series like that.

There’s no mistaking that this is a series that is a bit more family suited than others, but it manages this without giving it that saturday morning cartoon feel. The narrative itself peaceful has quite a bit of depth to it, and it runs the rotund range of emotions, both negative and obvious. It explores major issues like anxiety, and death, in a map that works for a exhibit like this without having a negative achieve on its impact.
The characters face death and injury, encounter personal conflicts amongst each other, feel the highs of victory and sting of defeat and so on; the chronicle doesn’t suffer from the lack of sure “dilapidated” components. It’s a family superb cartoon, but manages to do so without feeling overly kiddy. Sex, blood and violence are obviously missing, which is lovely since this series really wouldn’t aid from any of those. Aside from that though, it collected manages to gain the characters well and provide a legend with enough depth, something many series aimed at family audiences unbiased can’t pull off.
The art style might catch a bit of getting mature to. It’s a collaboration between a Japanese studio and a French studio, so while the anime element is obviously there, it does have a different feel to it. The most primary original element of the art style is the lack of defined noses on the characters, but it works once you catch adjusted to it. The color palette archaic and how well the colors blend makes the series really quite impressive visually. The CG also mixes in well with the 2D, it doesn’t really suffer from that out of set feeling that you procure in other shows where the two styles are mixed.
As long as you’re no the type who needs that obvious “maturity” that anime titles loaded with fanservice, gore, or really dusky storylines provide, then this is definitely worth a gaze. You certainly can’t go depraved with an entire 26 episode series being released on two volumes under $20 a share either.
For those that are hardcore sub fans though, you might be disappointed in that the series is presented with the English dub only. It’s a well done dub though, and the series was made with the draw of being broadcast internationally as well. One thing worth noting as well is that the DVD uses the opening and closing songs worn in the Japanese/French version, and not the songs former in the US broadcast version.
All in all it’s a friendly series that is fun and lighthearted, but unruffled provides enough depth and conflict to stutter a kindly, enchanting memoir. It’s also a friendly deal as well as each volume has 13 episodes a fragment and normally be found for around $15 (MSRP is place at 19.99) . If you delight in a series like this, then this is a kindly recall.

Almost an hour of non-stop Barney songs! My 12-month-old boy loves this tape. Now, he’s figured out that if he points to the videos and says “Ba,” he gets to notice the Barney video, so he asks a lot. This video is graceful well-behaved as Barney goes. I get I like it better than the indicate. One of the songs is about using your “inside thunder” in the car or at school, and your “outside stutter” when you’re playing outside. It’s very cute. Another one that makes me laugh is about not letting the water speed when you brush your teeth. So specific!

This tape is pleasant! It’s definitely one of the better Barney tapes. I’d recommend this tape as a must for your Barney collection. I’d also recommend “Converse and Dance with Barney”, “Barney’s Sizable Surprise”, “Live in NYC”, and “Let’s Play School”. These are the best of the Barney tapes. My 19 month extinct son likes them best and they maintain his attention so I score things done around the house.

I enjoyed how current the first Crank film was and this sequel is even more wild, but I liked it a lot less. Crank: High Voltage is a roller coaster straggle that last 85 minutes and features some really scandalous scenes. For example, a guy getting a shotgun rammed up his rear kill isn’t even in the top three outlandish moments in this flick. There was one scene where a guy had to punish himself for letting his boss down, which I had to turn my head and observe away (I can’t remember the last time I did that) . There is almost zero realism here, distinguished like the modern, only multiplied by a hundred. Jason Statham is the main action star in the business upright now and he is shapely splendid at what he does. He went all out here and I’m positive he has nothing but bruises and a nice paycheck to present for it. The broad supporting cast was better than average and Amy Incandescent was especially yummy. If you liked Crank (2006) you will probably be pleased this one well enough, but I deem they should set aside this series to rest. Judging by the ending during the credits, I’m definite we can ask Crank 3-D: Zombie Chev in the arrive future.
The movie itself was OK, but it took two days and several web searches to gain it to play on my Sony BDP-S350. I did not have a flash drive installed, so the movie would not load. Once I discovered the plight, none of the flash drives that I owned were limited enough to fit into the Sony’s opening. If you are not going to be able to play the movie without installing extra memory, it should be celebrated SOMEWHERE. It is my concept that Netflix stopped shipping the Blu-Ray version because of the jabber.

After a while you forget completely that you are watching an entertaining film. Music plays an considerable role in the film and is soft and relaxing though we do regain lots of those still moments too for which ghibli films are eminent. Also featured in the film is John Denver’s song “country roads” which makes the perfect backdrop for the film. Not to mention here, the royalty disputes which arised later, making it difficult for the movie to peek an American release.

Indeed, this is something I really savor about most of these Japanese directors: the ability of depicting children for what they are, rather than as cute stale and witty “small” adults, as considerable of Hollywood instead does.
As in virtually all of Studio Ghibli’s movies, the drawings are pretty, some of them breathtaking, and the characters are lovable and well constructed. One of the major “characters” is a cat that will certainly kill up loving!
If you liked this movie, I would also strongly suggest you to inspect for another two Studio Ghibli movies that portion the same genre. One is “Ocean waves” (which centers around the complicated love-hate relation between two high school student), and the other one, which is absolutely amazing, is “Only yesterday”, the epic of a young Tokio woman who rediscovers herself during a vacation in the countryside. I judge both of them (especially the last one) are moral masterpieces.

The middle DVD of the three in Banner of the Stars II continues the increasingly personalized tale in this character-driven, incandescent science fiction. The results are satisfying and savory, but leave the viewer anxious for the next disc and the conclusion of the yarn. It’s been keen to examine how the anime has developed over the long arc since the beginning of Crest of the Stars. The drama has narrowed in scope and sweep but has increasingly focussed on characters. Faced with crisis on the prison planet, Lafiel, Jinto, and even Admiral Spoor, who gets some quality cover time, all wrestle with issues of Abh honor, duty, battles and personal feelings. DVD extras again include notes from the unusual novel’s author. This series seems more luscious as it goes on; one can only hope that we’ll someday eye “Battle of the Stars III” or that the novels glean translated into English.

This is an exceptional DVD transfer of an exceptional movie. Criterion has done a glowing job of restoring Charade to its bright glory. The film is presented in its recent 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The print is certain, crisp, and attractive to examine. You feel as if you can advance out and touch the actors.
And what actors! The film features the dashing older version of Cary Grant and the youthful gamine Audrey Hepburn, with enough chemistry between them to ignite a fireworks factory. The location is a convoluted and flimsy trifle about frigid war peek shenanigans, with cases of wrong identity and episodes of grave anguish for Miss Audrey. But Cary, the classic trustworthy guy in cad’s clothing, is there to achieve the day. In addition to which he provides chaste romance that sizzles beneath the civility.
Audio commentary is provided by director Stanley Donen and screenwriter Peter Stone. While titillating and humorous in spots, it does toddle a bit over the length of the film. It may be better to check it out when you secure something in the film that you would like to hear dissected. Otherwise, you’d be better to stick with the exquisite, corny dialogue spoken in the dulcet tones of Cary and Audrey. The soundtrack music is to also to be savored, done up in classic ’60s see movie style by the movie maestro Henry Mancini.

If you have nothing to do on a rainy day and enjoy a DVD player, this is the movie you want to have on hand to pop in the machine and content you from care. It’s a keeper (and it comes in a keeper case!) .
I got this DVD for Christmas and I wasn’t disappointed. Stanley Donen, director of musicals such as “Singin’ In The Rain” starring Gene Kelly, brought together Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn (who looks radiant, as always) in this wonderfully-written sage about a Parisian widow (Hepburn) who is being pursued by three risky men (two of which are played by George Kennedy – an pleasurable “heavy” – and James Coburn at his most menacing) who want to accept out about a colossal sum of money her lifeless husband supposedly had. Grant is the pleasurable stranger but eventually you start to wonder: is he working with these men? Does he want the money for himself? Or is he really the exquisite, older man Audrey finds herself falling in admire with?
Enhanced by a lush gain by the behind Henry Mancini, photographed beautifully in Paris and containing noble acting and deliciously wrong dialogue by writer Peter Stone, “Charade” is a film that should be in every serious DVD collection. Grant is older but better, like magnificent wine, and Ms. Hepburn … well there have been millions of words stale to narrate her and I can’t add to them other than to say the world lost a satisfactory talent at her death.
You’ll delight in “Charade” for a long, long time.

This is it! The source, THE PRODUCERS, the 1968 release with screenplay and direction by Mel Brooks, juicy parts by Zero Mostel, Gene Wilder, Kenneth Mars and others, and a well-deserved reputation as one of the funniest movie comedies ever. Filmed on a pittance (less than $1 million, cheap even by Sixties standards), THE PRODUCERS almost died unrecognized until it became a cult hit in Modern York, L.A., Chicago and then, everywhere.
SPOILER GRAF: The state is brilliantly diabolical: a foul Broadway producer (Zero Mostel) and his nebbishy accountant assistant (Gene Wilder) deliberately oversell a play with the produce to compose a flop and preserve the proceeds. They hire the worst possible playwright, director, and choreographer and deliberately insult the drama critics. But the play is so hilariously bad it becomes awfully hilarious. The essence of 1960s camp: It’s sterling because it’s so dreadful.

It’s hard to overstate unbiased how generous Mel Brooks’ first movie is. The improper budget forced a lot of outside shooting in Current York City, and as a result the movie looks current, not cosmetized. The premise of a play about “Adolf and Eva in a happy romp at Berchtesgaden” was, if anything, more offensive unbiased 23 years after the waste of the Second World War than it is today. A stout gamble on Brooks’ fragment, but it played.
This edition is well worth the extra couple of dollars over the “movie only” version. It includes a second CD, apparently achieve together about the time of the 2001 Broadway musical, and contains stills, bios, and an though-provoking documentary about the film’s making and reception. The last is especially fun since all the principals keen (except the gradual Zero Mostel) are alive and active and possessed of strong memories of that “kooky” classic-in-the-making.
The 2005 movie with Broadway vets Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick is proving a disappointment to those who remember the unusual movie or the 2001 Broadway shatter. The unique movie took the Broadway book and plot it in an imagined-and expensive–”indeterminate past” corpulent of unhurried 1950s cars and fashions. Unfortunately, what works on the stage doesn’t always translate on film, and despite all the talent and money keen, the modern movie comes across as stagey, self-absorbed and at times a bit labored. And LONG: half again as long as this fresh, which clocks in honest at an hour and a half.
The verdict: All versions of THE PRODUCERS are comic, but the 1968 movie is the one to begin with. Appreciate it now at a mountainous heed.
“The Producers”, which has gained newfound fame due to the Musical Comedy that Mel Brooks created based on this, his first movie, is also the best thing Brooks has ever done. “Blazing Saddles” was a gag-a-minute recall on the Western, and “Young Frankenstein” was Brooks’ spoof on fear, but in “The Producers”, Brooks’ made something that was entirely his own: a madcap, hilarious, perfectly cast satire of life on the seedier side of Broadway.

The unhurried, gigantic Zero Mostel stars as Max Bilalystock, a broken-down big-time Broadway producer who has been reduced to seducing passe ladies for checks to fund flops. Into his dismal life comes accountant Leo Bloom(Gene Wilder in the first of several Brooks’ collaborations) . Bloom is a nebbishly high-strung auditor who offhandedly mentions to Max that a producer could execute more money from a flop than a hit. This launches one of the most hilarious movies ever made, as Bloom and Bialystock plan to derive the worst sript, worst director, and worst actors to construct the most tasteless and dreadful play ever.
The humor here is some of Brooks’ finest. He expertley skewers Broadway egos, Nazis’s, and greed as he tells the sage of the production of “Springtime for Hitler”, written by an ex-Nazi who quiet holds onto the conception that Hitler was a gigantic man. What keeps it from becoming an offensive movie is that the play is so hopelessly miscast and directed that it is fair a mountainous joke, and the fact that the audience knows that the Nazi is being taken advantage of steers the film away from the gloomy aspects of that ideology and makes fun of everything Hitler was trying to design. Wilder shines as Bloom, in his first major role, as he moves from loser to producer to desperate criminal, and Mostel shows his gorgeous gift for gargantuan comedy in his portrayal of the morally bankrupt producer who prizes money above all else. The film’s funniest scenes involve bizzare breakdowns from Wilder, the hilarious alegiance to the defunct Third Reich by the playright, played with grunt conviction by Kenneth Mars, and of course the play itself. The opening musical number is a gawk to stare, and manages to spoof every over the top broadway production ever in the sense that everyone fervent in the production, effect Wilder and Mostel, purchase it so damn seriously.
The Producers has finally gotten the DVD release it deserves, and should delight anyone who loves Mel Brooks, and perhaps rep a few converts who only know him from his latter day flops(Men in Tights, I’m looking at you) . Brooks had 10 tremendous years of moviemaking in him, and he starts it out with a bang in this film.
